Let's discover Astar Alien NFTs in less than 5 minutes.

Getting Started​

Get started by creating a wallet. Astar Alien NFTs are based on the Ethereum Standard for Non-fungible Tokens. Astar itself is a parachain (a parachain slot is a scarce resource on the Polkadot Network) that combines the power of Polkadot and Ethereum. You can have fast and cheap transactions (the power of the Polkadot Network) and Ethereum based Smart Contracts with the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine). To interact with Astar you need a Wallet to hold and interact with your NFTs. Technically your Wallet provided the keys to your Wallet Address and the Smart Contract with the blockchain keeps track who owns the NFT.

Requirements ... What you'll need​

There are two types of Astar wallets ... native Wallets and EVM Wallets.

native Wallet​

You need a native (aka Polkadot) Wallet for receiving the Polkadot based Astar Tokens. Most Exchanges only transact with this Tokens. By the time of this writing these native Wallets are supported:

EVM Wallet​

You need a EVM (aka Ethereum) Wallet for interacting with Smart Contracts in the Astar environment. To use and transfer the NFTs you need a EVM Wallet and the EVM Astar Tokens. By the time of this writing these EVM Wallets are supported:

  • MetaMask
  • OneKey
  • Talisman
  • SubWallet
  • Hana Wallet
  • Enkrypt
  • WalletConnect
  • OKX Wallet

Astar Portal​

On the Astar Portal https://portal.astar.network/ you can transfer your native Astar tokens to a EVM Astar Wallet and vice versa. So as a tribute to 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy': Don't Panic!

Free Airdrops ... our dApp (decentralized Application)​

In the beginning of the campaign we will offer a limited amount of free* (* beside the transaction fee) Astar Alien NFTs as a Airdrop. All you need is a fraction of a Astar Token in a EVM Wallet to pay for the transaction fee. By the time of this writing thats a fraction af one US Cent. Our dApp supports MetaMask and SubWallet on desktop and mobile devices. The Airdrop will be start at the time fixed in out Smart Contract and will be over when all free airdropped NFTs are claimed. Even if you can own a much Astar Alien NFTs as you like, the Airdrop is limited to one per EVM Wallet Address.

ABI (Application Binary Interface) and our Smart Contract​

More technically experienced people don't need our dApp to interact with our Smart Contract on the Astar Network. You can use the ABI, the technical description how to send and receive data form smart contract via the Astar Network. And since the Smart Contract following the ERC-721 Standard every NFT platform (like NFT exchanges) thats support the standard should be able too.
